A TGV, which connected Saturday afternoon Lausanne in Paris, has hit the Jura a herd of cows out of his pen, without hurting travelers but twenty animals were killed, we learned Sunday at the gendarmerie.
"This is a TGV accident in the forest of Joux following a stray animal" because their enclosure had remained open, said the police, confirming information from the newspaper Le Progrès.
"There were no injuries in the TGV, but twenty cows killed" either on the spot or later euthanized because of injuries too important, continued the same source.
On Twitter, the SNCF indicated that "several cows were hit by the TGV 9269" around 2:45 pm. The traffic was interrupted "the time to make safety checks on the train".
An investigation is underway on the circumstances of the accident.
