Pictures of Iraqi model Jihan Hashim on the roof of a mosque in Baghdad, showing his domes, sparked controversy and dissatisfaction on social media, as some activists attacked the model and launched a poison against it, while others considered it normal.
For his part, the Office of Sunni Endowment in Iraq in a statement on Saturday expressed outrage at the work of the model in the mosque "Nida al-Islam" in the capital Baghdad, and ordered its president Abdul Latif al-Hamim to form a committee of inquiry into this.
The statement added that "the results of the investigation proved that Jihan Hashim entered the mosque outside the working hours without official approvals, and this is contrary to the law."
He pointed out that the Court will sue the supermodel because this act is out of the public context, stressing that mosques are places of worship and not for photography and review.

The model's apology
After the release of the Sunni waqf statement, model Jihan Hashim apologized if she took the pictures at a mosque in the Iraqi capital of Baghdad as "abuse", noting that she was not mistaken and intended to convey a beautiful image of Islam and Iraq to her audience in the world.
She added that "she also wanted to show the beauty of mosques in Iraq, whether in the north, south or Baghdad, to tell those who follow me from other countries that we have beautiful mosques to pray and that security is stable in the country, and that the mosques are not abandoned, but available to all who want to enter." She pointed out that "in the Sultanahmet Mosque in Istanbul, for example, everyone is taking pictures there and even from other nationalities."
Jihan Hashim has published a picture of her on the roof of the mosque "Nida al-Islam" and show around its domes, commenting that "our Islamic religion of religion of tolerance, love and peace."
Activists on the media defended what the Iraqi model had done, and considered it normal and not worth all the fuss.
