Turkish Defense Minister Hulusi Akar has announced that the Joint Operations Center with the United States will start working with full capacity and start implementing the first phase of the field to establish a safe area in Syria.

Akar said in a statement during a tour of military units in the western Turkish province of Izmir on Saturday that the first joint sorties of helicopters (with the US side) are taking place today, and the destruction of sites and fortifications of militants in northeastern Syria.

On Turkish checkpoints in the area of ​​de-escalation in northwestern Syria, Akar said, "We will use our right to legitimate defense until the end, in case of any attack against our observation points or our presence in Idlib."
