- The indigenous population is affected as our food source begins to change. Today we cannot hunt nearby so we have to go to the city and get industrialized food, says domestic environmental activist Thiago Parintintin. Thiago is part of a small group living in Humaitá, located in the southeastern part of the state of the Amazon.

- I am 31 years old and think of the future generation, our children and grandchildren, because we have preserved land today but in 10 or 15 years we will not be able to live the way we live now, says Marcelo Parintintin, a teacher in the tribe.

- We won't be able to breathe the same air as we breathe today, so we have very big problems, he adds.
