US basketball player Dwight Howard has signed up for a year with the Los Angeles Lakers, after being released from his contract by the Memphis Grizzlies, according to several US media.

Howard, 33, and 15 seasons in the NBA, had arrived this summer at the Grizzlies after a season at the Washington Wizards with which he played only 9 games due to injuries.

This is his second visit to the Lakers, whose colors he has worn in 2012-2013.

The Lakers are facing the serious injury of pivot DeMarcus Cousins, who may miss the entire 2019/2020 season after a rupture of the cruciate ligaments of the left knee.
