“For the federal government, the site has become a topic of discussion whenever there is a reason for this, in particular, after the last presidential election in Ukraine in July. The federal government definitely condemns the Peacemaker and requires the Ukrainian government and Ukrainian authorities to take steps to remove the site, ”the response says.

Meanwhile, as indicated in the document, Germany will not stop funding various projects to promote democracy and the development of civil society in Ukraine.

As one of the authors of the request, Left Party deputy Andriy Khunko, noted in a RT commentary, if the federal government really wants to help democracy in Ukraine, it should require the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Arsen Avakov to initiate a criminal prosecution of the site administrators.

“I know that Ukrainian government agencies, unfortunately, are still actively using the Peacemaker website. If the federal government really wants to help democracy in Ukraine, then it must demand that the Minister of Internal Affairs Avakov, as yet, begin criminal prosecution of the administrators of the Peacemaker. This is a tool to intimidate the entire Ukrainian people and a terrible relic of the Poroshenko era, ”he stressed.

Hunko also noted that a number of German citizens, including himself, were included in the Peacemaker base.

“Many German citizens, from critical journalists to the ex-Chancellor of Germany Gerhard Schroeder, were included in the Peacemaker base. They justified it in different ways: it could be a criticism of the Kiev government, a political position on the conflict in the east of Ukraine, or supposedly illegal entry into the country through the Russian Federation, ”Hunko added.

Earlier in Kiev, it was announced that there was no appeal from Germany to the Peacemaker website.
