Emmanuel Macron and Donald Trump had lunch in head on Saturday in Biarritz to sweep the topics before the opening of a G7 that looks particularly tense, a meeting that was not planned initially.

Trump threatens French wine

The two leaders met at the Hotel du Palais, in the elegant seaside resort which hosts the G7 in southwest France until Monday. The day before, the American president had again threatened to tax French wine if Paris persisted in wanting to impose the major US digital groups.
