It is the return for Emmanuel Macron, and the President of the Republic wants above all to succeed with the French. He tries here at the G7 to show that the destiny of France is linked to the destiny of the world, that the life of the French also depends on what will be said and decided at this summit. That's why he came to talk to them. He hears that this summit is useful, that it is not only a great meeting between leaders caulked in large hotels and protected protesters by an armada of police.

So, that the G7 is criticized as a format that is no longer adapted to the state of the world, Emmanuel Macron recognizes it. Moreover, that is why he decided to invite eight countries to participate in the G7. The goal of the president is to form coalitions of states that get involved and engage on the big issues and the first of these big topics is the climate. The head of state has made it one of his priorities for this G7.
