Abu Dhabi Municipality, through its Sub-Municipal Operations Sector, has added a new sports entertainment icon to the Abu Dhabi Corniche, through the completion of a sports and exercise area in accordance with the best international standards in the West 10 basin.
The Director of the Municipality of the city center, Eng. Majid Abdul Kathiri, said that the project costed about one million and 900 thousand dirhams, and the work included the supply and installation of new games equipment to serve different age groups. Sustainable and eco-friendly as natural wood, in addition to the use of beach sand on the floor of the game area to provide safety and fun for users of the game area.
In order to ensure the safety of children using the play area, a fence has been installed around the play area and umbrellas for play areas, sidewalks and footpaths have been set up to connect the play area to existing walkways, he said.
The development also included planting flowering trees, to be used to provide shade for the game areas in line with business sustainability.
Al-Katheri added that the project also included the establishment of an exercise area equipped with modern and smart equipment, with a poster on how to use and can be read through the applications of barcode reading, where people can exercise areas to know how to use.
