“We just had a conversation with Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaru ... I told him that if the United States can help with fires in the forests of the Amazon, we are ready to help,” Trump wrote on Twitter.
The American leader also said that the relationship between the countries is “strong, perhaps stronger than ever.”
Earlier, the President of Ecuador made a proposal for help.
In July, Trump offered Russian President Vladimir Putin assistance in extinguishing forest fires in Siberia.
