Earlier this year it was found that health care in the county went towards a deficit of SEK 400 million. Work is currently underway on finding ways to reduce costs and several proposals are being prepared.
One of these is that the administration within the region will reduce its costs by ten percent by 2021, which corresponds to SEK 100 million.
- All the region's operations must be developed and changed to meet both the present and the future challenges. When we compare with other regions, we see that there is potential to reduce administration costs. Therefore, it is proposed that the region's administrative costs should be reduced by 100 million by 2021, says Andreas Svahn (S), chairman of the regional board in a press release.
The proposal will be considered at the regional board's meeting on Tuesday next week, August 27.
