- We have presented strong evidence that the district court should approve the prosecution and convict these people for murder, says Thomas Bergström.

It was the night of October 15 last year that a 29-year-old man was shot dead on Galléengatan on Östermalm in Eskilstuna. During the final day of the trial, prosecutors Thomas Bergström and Immanuel Winbergh held their final pleadings.

They say it is the two main suspected men, 26 and 27 years old and a resident of Avesta, who murdered the 29-year-old by shooting him twice with a shotgun and stabbing him seven times. According to the police investigation, the two men would hit the 29-year-old to buy tramadol tablets.

During the trial, prosecutors have, among other things, shown chat messages from the victim's phone showing that he had contact with one of the men a few minutes before he was murdered.

- The way in which this act has been performed is similar to an execution, the most severe punishment should be sentenced, says Thomas Bergström.

Shot the killers

Two more men are involved in the case. According to the prosecutor, a 36-year-old man from Fagersta must have shot the two suspected murderers to Eskilstuna and also driven them back to Avesta the same night.

The 36-year-old has played a significant role in the investigation. He has said that he saw one of the men shoot the 29-year-old and that the other hit him with a knife. The 36-year-old is charged with assisting in the murder and protection of criminals.

- The district court is allowed to consider whether he has been guilty of assisting in murder, and then we have pleaded for a multi-year prison sentence, at least one year, says Thomas Bergström.

A 51-year-old man charged with serious weapons offenses. It was in his garage in Krylbo that the police found the suspected murder weapon.

All four men refuse a crime. The verdict will be announced on September 6.
