After the Örebro Pride association was closed down, it was uncertain at first whether there would be any festival at all. But the demand was so great that the organizers felt that something had to happen.

Tindra Svanberg, vice president of RFSL in Örebro, says that the association has no time to plan and conduct a Pride festival in 2019 - even if they get more money.

- We initially said that there would be nothing this year, that we would instead put the gun on next year and then have parade as usual, says Tindra Svanberg, chairman of RFSL Örebro.

But then people started asking.

"Demand made us do something anyway"

- Many asked if we could do anything, just a little something. Demand and the will were so great that we needed to do something, Tindra Svanberg continues.

However, there is no parade, as SVT Örebro told earlier. The festival will instead consist of lectures, workshops and film screenings among other things.

- The concept of the year has nevertheless been well received. It is an opportunity to meet and socialize and exchange with others, which seems to suit people well. It's better than nothing, says Tindra Svanberg.

- But the parade is missing - it must come back next year.

ABF Örebro and Örebro Rättighetscenter are also behind this year's events.
