Equestrian Association: "Horse riding on the road to becoming an organized business"

Many riding clubs around the country have their own cane horse clubs and at the regional level the Swedish Riding Sports Association has participated in events, such as district championships, which has been greatly appreciated by the practitioners.

There is no central organization for the sport in the country yet, but now horse riding can be on its way into the equestrian space.

- We are currently looking at the possibilities of having some form of coordination within the Swedish Riding Sport Association for horse horses. The hope, if it becomes relevant, is to be able to start the process next year, says Elin Gustavson, chair of the central youth section of the Swedish Riding Sports Association.

She says that many activists have asked for a Swedish championship and that is why a union is required to stand behind.

- It must also be approved by the Swedish Sports Federation and then a completely different process is required.

And the growing interest in horse riding is something that the Equestrian Association wants to encourage. However, Elin Gustavson points out that there are no decisions yet on the issue of a central organization within the union, but the matter is on the agenda.

- We do not yet know what the organization should look like or what it lands in. We want to find a reasonable level, not too many guidelines and rules, because we do not want to kill the joy in the horse riding.
