Autostrade per l'Italia "urged the companies that designed and executed the works on the collapsed flyover in A14 a very detailed report on what happened, to ascertain any human errors and evaluate possible actions to protect them". The construction site, says a note from the company, "had been started on February 7th and it should have been concluded, as far as activities on the batteries aimed at raising the flyover were concerned, on March 31st".

In the hours immediately following the collapse, Autostrade had spoken of "a tragic unforeseeable accident, caused by the collapse of temporary batteries on work to raise the overpass necessary to restore the height of the work to the new level of the highway plan, after the widening of the three-lane motorway. This is not therefore a question of structural failure ". Yesterday morning, Autostrade always announced that the activities on the bridge "had been completed at 11:30 am and, at the time of the accident, the staff was carrying out ancillary activities".

The minister Delrio already signed the decree of appointment of the inspectorate commission of experts of the department to verify and analyze what happened. The company responsible for the works, Delabech, carried out similar works on 19 other overpasses of the same section.

The person in charge of the works: down the temporary supports
"The structure of the bridge's temporary supports went into crisis". Human error and structural failure?
