Zayed University, in its campuses in Abu Dhabi and Dubai, welcomed the new undergraduate students in the new academic year, numbering about 1,700 students who moved to secondary school, in two separate concerts for female students, the first campus in Dubai and the second campus in Abu Dhabi , Followed by a ceremony for students in the student building.

The President of the University, Dr. Riyadh Al-Muhaidib, attended the events in the presence of his deputy Dr. Mike Wilson, deans of faculties and members of the administrative and teaching staff.

Al Muhaidib said that Zayed University is a unique learning environment that takes the best international standards, and includes facilities and services developed infrastructure and environmentally friendly, and has integrated facilities to support all students, including people with disabilities, in addition to using the latest educational technologies that serve academic achievement and scientific and research activities And facilitate learning in ways that keep pace with the rapid scientific progress of the 21st century.

He explained that the study plans for the new year were designed so that students engage in programs that last for three semesters, which provide them with different basic skills, whether in languages ​​or skills of learning, research and entrepreneurship, in addition to learning about different cultures.

He pointed out that the university started this year in a unique course on happiness and quality of life, through which seeks to train students to identify their choices, within a balanced life path that provides them with self-confidence in their abilities, which provides them with a strong start in their chosen disciplines, and at the same time A productive university life, both in terms of academic study and in terms of student activities, cultural, sports, social, community and others.

Al-Muhaidib pointed out that the University is keen to establish bridges of cooperation and communication with various universities in the East and West, represented in student exchange and cultural programs and joint initiatives, and expressed his aspirations for the participation of new students colleagues from previous batches in many scientific competitions and cultural and sports activities and community initiatives that The University organizes it annually, as well as opportunities for leadership, entrepreneurship, part-time and volunteer work within and outside the university, adding a lot to their learning experience. He pointed out that the university has developed a system «smart badge», to record the various additional activities carried out by students during the years of study, allowing them to benefit from them when they apply for different job opportunities after graduation.
