France coach Jacques Brunel was absent from the press conference Thursday morning in Nice after having passed examinations at the hospital because of a fever spurt, which were reassuring, said the coaching.

"He had a little health concern, was doing examinations in the hospital, nothing serious, he will be with us this afternoon," said the coach of the rear Jean-Baptiste Elissalde, who replaced Brunel, accompanied by coach Julien Bonnaire, in front of the reporters.

Feverish Wednesday night, Brunel, 65, was passed exams Thursday morning, which were reassuring, according to the coaching.

He joined the Hotel des Bleus in Nice and will fly with the delegation in the afternoon to Edinburgh, where the XV of France will play Saturday against Scotland his second pre-season match at the World Cup in Japan ( September 20-November 2).

The Blues won the first Saturday in Nice against the same Scots (32-3).
