22 August 2019 There has not been a landslide, as has been learned at first, but a fall of some stones between the island of the Rabbits and the Tabaccara, in Lampedusa. A 52-year-old tourist was slightly injured.

To tell what has happened is his wife, contacted by telephone: "My husband climbed from the sea into the cliff to take pictures, but some rocks fell, he got scared, instead of going down he went up again and suffered minor injuries" . The firemen recovered the tourist. The tourist was taken as a precaution to the clinic for investigations.

The man was helped to descend from the rocky ridge where he had climbed from the fire brigade of the Lampedusa detachment due to the fright, after the fall of stones and soil.

He had climbed the cliff directly from the sea, in that area with the shallow water, to take photographs. The news, magnified, created a panic among the many swimmers who were in the Tabaccara area and on the nearby beach of the island of Conigli, overflowing this season. Firefighters speak of "small landslides".
