Eight maids from a four-star hotel in Marseille have been on strike for 135 days and lamented Thursday "the scuttling" by Elior Services, their employer, of mediation.

"They offered a bonus of 500 euros for everyone, it's been months that we're on the street, it's really nothing," insurged Thursday Leila Mendez Lopez, 27, one of the strikers .

For four months, the maids of the hotel NH Collection of Marseille ask for a salary increase, the 13th month or an increase on Sunday.

After more than two months of conflict, a mediation procedure was proposed by the regional prefecture, a mediation attacked by the CNT-SO 13 union, which denounced "the partial role of the mediator appointed by the prefect".

"The mediation ended on a finding of failure that is imputed to Elior who dragged on in length, without having the will to negotiate," said Julien Huard, secretary of the union CNT-SO 13.

"For us, concretely, Elior has to leave, the hotel has to hire our colleagues directly, the ball is on their side," continued Huard.

For its part, the management of Elior Services told AFP that the mediation initiated under the auspices of the prefecture services was not closed and that it did not wish to communicate during its conduct.

"We very much hope that the latter (mediation), and the proposals that the mediator can make, will lead to a quick resolution of the conflict," added the management.

Three chambermaids have left the strike since the beginning of the summer.

The Marseille movement has planned to join the maids of the hotel Ibis Paris Batignolles, also on strike, during the Summer Days of France insubordinated Saturday in Toulouse.
