“Hiroshima Roundtable”, where experts from various countries held in Hiroshima, the atomic bombing area, discuss the path to abolition of nuclear weapons. Announced an urgent appeal that strongly demanded maximum control.

“Hiroshima Round Table” is held every year by Hiroshima Prefecture, and it is held at the venue in Hiroshima City Naka Ward for two days, 21st and 22nd, with more than 20 experts from Japan, USA, China, Korea, etc. We discussed the path to abolition of nuclear weapons.

As a result, we announced an urgent appeal in response to the expiry of the INF = medium-range nuclear missile treaty that has become one of the pillars of nuclear disarmament between the United States and Russia.

According to the appeal, “We are deeply concerned about the risk of the use of nuclear weapons and the ongoing deterioration of the situation surrounding nuclear disarmament and the loss of the reliability and effectiveness of the nuclear non-proliferation regime.”

He then urges all countries to maximize control over medium-range missiles and to consider all possibilities for mutual control.

Hiroshima Prefecture encourages the realization by sending this emergency appeal to the heads of diplomatic authorities around the world, including Japan.

Governor Yuzaki of Hiroshima Prefecture said at a press conference, “We must collect the wisdom of countries around the world to overcome this crisis, as the situation surrounding nuclear disarmament is very severe.”
