The Fujairah Committee yesterday witnessed a remarkable turnout of women wishing to register for the National Assembly elections. The applications submitted to the Emirate of Fujairah Committee lasted until the last hours before registration was closed. The head of the committee, Major General Mohammed Ahmed bin Ghanim al-Kaabi, said that the last candidate was registered minutes before the end of the time limit.

For his part, Minister of Health and Community Protection and Minister of State for Federal National Council Affairs and Chairman of the National Election Commission, Abdul Rahman Al Owais, that «the high turnout witnessed in the registration centers of candidates in all Emirates, a clear evidence of the level of political awareness among all segments of society».

He pointed out that the empowerment of women in the country began at an early stage in the life of the state, and today we see Emirati women occupy the highest positions, working side by side with men in all places, and excellence and innovation in various fields.

Al Owais, accompanied by Undersecretary of the Ministry of State for Federal National Council Affairs, Tariq Hilal Lootah, inspected the registration center for candidates in the Emirate of Fujairah.

The results of the last day of the number of initiators to run in the elections of the National Council in the Emirate of Fujairah, 55 candidates and candidates. Women accounted for 37% of the total number of applicants, 20 candidates.

Asma Saeed Al Samahi, a resident of Dibba Al Fujairah, said that she went to register after great encouragement from her family and friends, which increased her enthusiasm and ambition to represent the voice of women in Fujairah.

Khalid Al-Dhanhani stated that he came to run in the elections because of his desire to be a partner in the national work by contributing in making decisions that serve the UAE march.
