"It will have consequences for waiting times, we will make fewer visits to employers to find workplaces for those who do not have their own contacts," says Niclas Josephson, Deputy Director of Operations at the Employment Service.

Many warned

The task of the government, the Center Party and the Liberals is for the Employment Service to be redone and a consequence is that the authority has received less money in the budget. Of the approximately 13,000 employees, around 3,000 have now either been notified or quit during the spring.

One of the consequences is that the number of contacts the Employment Service has with employers has sharply decreased during the spring. In July last year, more than 60000 contacts were registered, this year the figure was 12500.

Rising unemployment is predicted

This is happening at the same time as a recession is expected both in Sweden and abroad. The US and China are having a trade war, the world's stock exchanges have fallen in recent weeks and many forecasters are predicting rising unemployment.

- Then the vulnerable groups will find it more difficult in the labor market. There are newly arrived disabled people and young people for example, says Niclas Josephson.
