Munich (AP) - Bayern Munich coach Niko Kovac plans in the Bundesliga match at FC Schalke 04 not with a start-up deployment of the new top player Philippe Coutinho.
"He is certainly not yet on the fitness level to play from the beginning or 90 minutes," said Kovac in Munich on the borrowed by FC Barcelona Brazilian football player.
The 27-year-old Coutinho has been training in Munich with his new team since Tuesday. "He has a lot of catching up to do," said Kovac. One wants to take no risk of injury and "do not burn" the offensive player. The loaned by Inter Milan Ivan Perisic is compared to Coutinho, however, much further and a real option in Gelsenkirchen. "We can now simply refill," said Kovac after strengthening the Bayern squad in the offensive area.
Absence will be the German champion on Saturday evening (18.30) injured on the thigh ex-Schalke Leon Goretzka and probably the ill Jérôme Boateng and Fiete Arp. Kovac hopes against Schalke on the first win of the season. "We just have to shape the result differently," he said in retrospect to the 2: 2 to the league start against Hertha BSC.
