Cristiano Ronaldo, the top scorer of Juventus, has questioned the eligibility of some players for the financial value of their transfer deals.

Ronaldo broke the world record for footballers in 2009 with a transfer from Manchester United to Real Madrid for 94 million euros, before moving from Real to Juventus last year in a deal worth 100 million euros.

"It is difficult to make calculations in modern football," Ronaldo told Portuguese television channel TVI. "The clubs are betting a lot on the possibilities and the football industry is different."

"Let's put aside the case of Joao Felix (new signing from Benfica to Atletico Madrid for more than 125 million euros), how can a player move for 100 million euros without giving anything?"

"The money is more in football, and it is possible for a central defender or goalkeeper to move for 70 or 80 million euros. I do not agree with that, but this is the world we live in and must be respected."
