The President recalled that the election commissions rejected the participation of a number of candidates in the Moscow City Duma due to their violation of applicable law.

“In particular, they had to submit lists of those voters who support them. The election commissions found that these lists contain the so-called dead souls - people who have died, but their signatures are on these sheets. This is not a mistake, this is falsification, ”the Russian leader said at a press conference following talks with his Finnish counterpart Sauli Niinistö.

He recalled that a legal way to protect their rights is to appeal to the court. According to the president, at least one of these appeals ended with the candidate being restored to the right to be elected to the Moscow City Duma.

Previously, Putin, during a meeting with French leader Emmanuel Macron, commented on unauthorized actions in Moscow.
