The municipality receives the award for rights and inclusion thinking permeates the business. Municipal Councilor Ilan De Basso (S) is pleased and honored with the award.

As an example of the municipality's work with young people, the jury mentions, for example, the exhibition "Normstorm" and the initiative "Time for EU-tough". The municipality's collaboration structure on mental, physical and social health for children and adolescents is also highlighted.

"Jönköping is a role model for other municipalities in Sweden," says Nadine Ghawi, strategist at the Vision union and a member of the jury.

This is the second time the prize has been awarded to the Human Municipality of the Year. The winner is selected on the basis of proposals submitted by municipal officials. The prize is presented at Fotografiska in Stockholm in conjunction with Raoul Wallenberg's day on August 27 - Sweden's national day for civilian curiosity and humanity.

Last year it was the municipality of Falköping that received the award.
