The plan sketches for the rebuilding of Fisksätra station are now out for consultation on September 11. Until then, the public can submit comments on the proposal. If everything goes according to plan, construction will start in 2022.

- In conjunction with the construction of double tracks, we also plan to renovate the station itself, says Elin Lindström, who is a press spokesperson at SL.

More trains are needed

More trains are also required to enable the increased travel density. Therefore, SL will rebuild older subway cars so that they can run on the Saltsjö line.

- These wagons are still rolling on the subway's red and blue line, but the idea is that they will be gradually removed from traffic as the new subway trains start to run on the red line, says Elin Lindström.
