With "Once Upon a Time ... in Hollywood", Quentin Tarantino and the trio Leonardo Dicaprio, Brad Pitt and Margot Robbie take the lead of the box office with more than a million entries from its first week of operation, according to figures Wednesday from CBO Box Office.
The film tells the story of two friends, Rick Dalton (Leonardo DiCaprio), star actor in Western movies, and Cliff Booth (Brad Pitt), his stunt lining and man to do everything, counted 1,132,221 out of 683 rooms.
On the second step of the podium, "The Lion King" Jon Favreau with 696,877 entries in the fifth week. With more than 8.6 million cumulative admissions, he consolidated his lead as the most-watched film of the year 2019, ahead of "Avengers: Endgame" (6.8 million) and "What we have still done to God? " (6.7 million).
The new Fast & Furious franchise film, "Hobbs & Shaw", is relegated to third place with 616,366 in the second week, a drop of 46% after a first week to more than 1.1 million viewers.
In the fourth place, the animated film "Like beasts 2" by Chris Renaud who lost a place with 377.267 in the third week. 1,639,901 of entry in total.
The French film "C'est quoi ce grandie?", With Chantal Ladesou, takes fifth place with 318,179 entries, 743,557 in two weeks of operation.
In 6th, 7th and 8th places, three children's films: "Dora and the Lost City", "Toy Story 4" and "Playmobil, the movie". The first is 245,156 for its first week of operation. The two others accumulate respectively 4,285,567 and 277,849 entries for their 8th and 2nd week.
