Republican rapper Lil Nas X's "Old Town Road" hit record longevity in record sales in the United States, dethroned by pop star Billie Eilish, Billboard magazine announced on Monday .

The song "Bad Guy" of the young American singer, remained nine weeks in a row just behind the hit of the rapper of 20 years, finally won the first place in the Billboard.

"Congratulations to Billie Eilish !! You deserve it," tweeted a handsome player, the rapper from Atlanta.

Like Lil Nas X, Billie Eilish has gained fame in recent months with the release in March of his debut album "When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?".

The 17-year-old singer - the first musician born in the 2000s to lead the Billboard Hot 100 - had previously made herself known online for her hip-hop and electronic music style.

"Old Town Road", with an appearance of country singer Billy Ray Cyrus, had beaten in late July the record of "One Sweet Day" Mariah Carey (1995) and "Despacito" Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee, with Justin Bieber ( 2017), each first for 16 weeks.

Montero Hill, the real name of Lil Nas X, was still living with his sister some time ago, was unemployed and had just dropped out of school. He is now a millionaire, at 20 years old.
