It was in mid-July that the now convicted man, who is 60 years old, stabbed a man in his 50s in the chest. They were both at the same party in central Östersund.
The district court sentenced the 60-year-old to six years in prison for attempted murder. He will also pay SEK 105 100 in damages to the victim. The prosecutor pleaded for eight years in prison at the trial.
At the same time, the stabbed man is also sentenced to one month in prison for punching his 60-year-old in the face.
