Jo Mo, a 28-year-old daughter of the Attorney General's Secretary of State, has been listed as the first author of a thesis after a two-week internship at a medical institute.

Mr. Cho also had a short internship at the Gongju University's Biotechnology Research Institute. The intern interviewed professor was known as Cho's wife and a friend in college.

According to candidates Cho on the 20th, daughter Cho had intern for about two weeks at Dankook University School of Medicine and Medical Research in Cheonan, Chungnam, South Korea.

This program was conducted through the 'Parental Internship Program' operated by Han Young High School, which was organized by Professor A of Dankook University Medical School with children attending Han Young High School.

Mr. Cho later became the first author of an English paper titled 'Polymorphism of Endothelial Nitric Oxide Synthase Gene in Post-natal Ischemic Hypoxia Encephalopathy (HIE)', which was submitted to the Korean Society of Pathology in December 2008.

This paper was formally published in the Korean journal the following March.

Usually the first author is considered to be the person who led the experiment and thesis. We also rank higher than other co-authors in our research.

It is hard to believe that the results of a two-week internship for the humanities high school students.

There are many criticisms that the two-week short-term internship program itself is an “extraordinary privilege” that utilizes parental acquaintances.

In the summer of 2009, Cho also participated in a short-term internship at the Gongju University's Biotechnology Research Institute, and it was reported that Cho's wife, Chung Kyung-sim (57, Professor of Dongyang University), accompanied the interview.

The interviewer, Professor B and Jeong, shared their greetings before the interview, and they both worked together in the same club when attending Seoul National University.

However, it was reported that the two men were not in contact with each other before the interview and did not discuss Cho's internship.

Through his internship program, Mr. Cho gained experience by attending international conferences held in Japan in August 2009 and presenting in English.

After attending an American school in 2005-2006 and returning to Korea after attending Han Young High School in 2007, Cho passed the Korea University Environmental Science and Engineering Department as an occasional screening in March 2010.

At the time of admission, it was known that he wrote various experiences such as his / her own thesis in his self introduction.

Mr. Cho's personnel hearing preparation group said, "I hope there will be no assumptions and misunderstandings about participating in the internship program and being evaluated."

The HR hearing preparations sought to curb the 'admission' controversy by revealing Cho's high school, university and graduate school admissions details.

The preparation team explained that Cho passed the Korea University College of Life Sciences in 2010 as a 'World Leading Talent' rather than a 'Scientific Talent Admission'.

However, "Scientifically gifted students comprehensively evaluates all submitted documents such as comparison of school life records and awards, achievements or research activities in mathematics or science, and self-introduction, but there is no such content in the evaluation methods of world-leading talents." He said.

In 2015, when preparing for admission to the Graduate School of Medicine, Pusan National University, the preparatory group explained that 'Research achievements and experience' were accepted only for SCI (E) papers within the past 5 years based on the deadline for application.

Even with these standards, Mr. Cho did not submit his thesis, which he named as the first author in high school, at the time of admission.

The preparation group added that Cho Young-guk's admission to 2007 also received junior high school transcripts, written English, spoken and interviewed.

"We hope that no more false information about a candidate's child has been admitted to school will be disseminated," he said. "We will firmly respond to any future malicious misrepresentation."

Nevertheless, Dankook University officially apologized for the lack of verification of the research paper related to the entry of Cho's daughter, the first author of thesis.

The opinions of the colleges, such as Gopas, where Cho graduated from, also need to investigate whether or not it was justified.
