20 August 2019The Agrigento prosecutor ordered the seizure of the Open Arms ship stopped in front of Lampedusa and the immediate evacuation of the refugees on board. Agrigento prosecutor Luigi Patronaggio carried out an inspection of the Open Arms together with two doctors. The inspection on board lasted about an hour and a half.

Migrants have dived into the sea
The nineteenth day of sailing for the Open Arms ship, which stops 700 meters from the port of Lampedusa, seemed the longest and most difficult. It was the day when 15 exhausted migrants dived into the sea trying to swim to the island.
