August 20, 2019The proposal by Hong Kong governor Carrie Lam to start a "platform for dialogue" is "an old deception" and a "trap" for the movement that for two and a half months has manifested in the former colony against the law on extraditions to China.

This is the response of the Civil Human Rights Front, the group that also mobilized 1.7 million people in Victoria Park on Sunday.

Lam "change the subject" instead of going straight to the issues raised, including the formal withdrawal of the disputed law, an investigation into the work of the police and amnesty for all protesters.
