This spring, the police had a 90-day limited camera surveillance, but the new permit from the Data Inspectorate applies so far.
In its application to the Data Inspectorate, the municipality reported on a number of reported crimes between 15 January 2016 and 3 June 2018. Only 112 different crimes were reported in the area in question.
In February this year, about 50 young people, some masked, were killed by police at the train station in Väsby. Police arrested three people for violent resistance.
- Of course, it is important to safeguard the integrity of the Väsbyborns, but after the incidents that have been, I believe there is an understanding among the public that we have taken these measures, says Oskar Weinmar (M).
During the autumn, camera surveillance is expected to start.
