The oldest pet in the world is eye-catching for its 121th birthday.

On the 19th, local officials, including Metro, UK, introduced Tommy, a turtle who lives with 62-year-old Sheila Floris.

Born in 1898, Tommy was adopted by Sheila's grandmother in 1909, when she was 11 years old. She has survived two world wars and lived with her grandmother for more than 50 years. She has moved to her home, Sheila, her five-year-old granddaughter.
Sheila recalled, "We've been traveling around our home garden at a fairly fast pace, and it's my first memory of Tommy."

In addition, "The family was naturally named 'Tommy' because they thought it was a male, but after seeing their eggs later, I thought it was a female." "I'm already so used to it, I decided to call it Tommy."
Tommy, who emerged as an icon of longevity, surprisingly says he has never been to a veterinary clinic. Sheila said, "The secret of Tommy's longevity is a healthy diet based on garden weeds and dandelions, and the generous affection and care of our families." "It's easier to raise and less expensive than other animals."

Finally, "If you do not have Tommy, it's so weird. It's really like a family," he said. "I will live until 170 years old."
