President Trump mentions Samsung in relation to the US-China trade war. Apple products, which are US companies, are produced in China and are subject to tariffs, while Samsung is not, and they want to think about what to do.

After his vacation, Trump met with reporters to talk about Samsung.

During my vacation, I met with Tim Cook's chief executive officer, who said, "Samsung is not paying tariffs."

[Trump / US President: (Apple CEO) Tim Cook talked about tariffs. One of the things he said was that Samsung is the biggest competitor and Samsung does not pay tariffs because it is based in Korea.]

Apple, which manufactures products in China, will rise in price if additional tariffs are imposed on products made in China as planned by the Trump administration.

In this case, Mr. Cook is complaining that based on Korea, Samsung products without additional tariffs and price competition in the US market will be difficult.

[Trump / US President: Samsung does not pay tariffs because it is based elsewhere, mainly in Korea Cook has made a strong argument about this and thinks about it.]

The Trump administration initially decided to impose an additional 10% tariff on $ 300 billion of Chinese goods starting next month, but postponed it until December 15 for certain items, including mobile phones.

After December 15, Apple's products will be subject to tariffs, so it's interesting to see if President Trump will take steps to secure Apple's price competitiveness in the future.
