The accident happened around 1:30 in the night. According to the Swedish Transport Administration, an estimated 100 meters of rail have been damaged in connection with the derailment.
"We have now started clearing and a very cautious forecast is that it should be fixed in about a week," says Sofia Lindahl, press communicator at the Swedish Transport Administration.
The focus now is on getting the rail accessible as soon as possible. What caused the accident is still unclear.
- At present, we have no such information, but this is something a later investigation may show, says Lindahl.
No passenger train is operated along the route.
