Fire burns 1200 buildings in slums Thousands lose their homes Bangladesh August 19th 8:54
In a slum area in Dhaka, the capital city of Bangladesh, there were 1200 fires that burned and lost thousands of people.
On the 16th, there was a massive fire in the slums in the western part of Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh.
Because many houses were made of scrap wood and plastic, the fire spread all at once, and according to the Bangladesh government, the fire burned 1200 buildings and lost thousands of people.
According to local media, this day was an Islamic holiday and most of the inhabitants went out, so there were no deaths, but four people were injured.
The woman who lost her home said, “Everything has become ash. There is no help from anyone.”
Currently, the victims are in nearby schools, but because there are many poor people, the government will provide funds for food and livelihood reconstruction in the future.
In Dhaka, large-scale fires have occurred one after another in February, including the burning of houses in the old city area where old buildings are crowded, and the death of about 70 people.
