The Saudi-UAE alliance announced the launch of a new military operation against the Houthis in Sanaa (northern Yemen), while local sources said that a state of tension in the city of Zanzibar, the administrative center of the province of Abyan (south of the country).

Meanwhile, local Yemeni sources said that the Saudi-Emirati coalition fighter raids on military positions in Sanaa late on Monday evening.

The sources added that the raids targeted Mount Attan (south of Sanaa), which included camps, including the headquarters of rocket brigades, and Anatolia quoted residents as saying that the warplanes launched more than seven raids.

On the other hand, the Saudi-UAE coalition announced the start of a qualitative targeting of legitimate military targets, as he put it, and called on civilians to stay away from the targeted sites in Sana'a.

Since 2015, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates have led an alliance carrying out military operations in Yemen in support of pro-government forces against the Houthis, who have controlled provinces including the capital Sanaa since 2014.

In the context of tension in the southern governorates, the Yemeni Minister of Information said that the security belt forces besieged the special security forces in the province of Abyan, and demanded to surrender or storm the camp.

Local sources said that there are tribal and community mediation in the city of Zanzibar in the province of Abyan seeking between the parties to find a way out of the armed confrontation.

It is noteworthy that the security and military formations of the Transitional Council took control of the state institutions, camps and security headquarters in the interim capital Aden.

Earlier on Monday, Reuters quoted three Yemeni sources that the refusal of separatists in southern Yemen to give up control of the port of Aden led to the postponement of a summit previously called by Riyadh, to discuss the restructuring of the Yemeni government, which was overthrown by the Houthis, including separatists, with an end Tense situation.

The sources said that the inclusion of the Southern Transitional Council of the government is linked to its full withdrawal first and end the "coup", while the forces of the Council refused to withdraw.

President Hadi presided over an extraordinary meeting in Riyadh of senior Yemeni officials to discuss the "armed insurgency" in Aden, and the implementation of what was agreed with Saudi Arabia to end the insurgency and the withdrawal of militias.

A spokesman for the Saudi-Emirati coalition forces, Colonel Turki al-Maliki, said troops from the Southern Transitional Council and the security belt had begun evacuating government posts in Aden.

Al-Maliki said at a press conference that a Saudi-Emirati committee is working around the clock to complete the withdrawal from positions controlled by these forces, and handed over to the Yemeni presidential brigades, he said.
