TEHRAN (Reuters) - Iran hosted a tripartite meeting on Saturday with a delegation from Yemen's Houthi group and ambassadors from Britain, France, Germany and Italy, as well as foreign ministry representatives, to discuss ways to resolve the Yemeni crisis.

The British ambassador to Tehran, Rab McAir, was the first to unveil the meeting. He praised the role of the Iranian Foreign Ministry in hosting the meeting and wrote in his twitter tweet that "it is very important to discuss the political process and the humanitarian crisis in Yemen."

For its part, the Foreign Ministry announced in a statement that it hosted a meeting within the framework of the talks to resolve the Yemeni political crisis in the presence of an Iranian delegation headed by Ali Asghar Khaji, assistant minister for political affairs, a delegation of Yemeni Ansar Allah group (Houthis) headed by its spokesman Mohammed Abdul Salam, ambassadors and heads of European missions Four: Britain, France, Germany and Italy.

According to the Tehran statement, the delegates who attended the meeting presented the vision of their governments regarding the developments in Yemen, especially the political, field and humanitarian situations, and expressed regret for the continuation of the crisis which left tens of thousands of victims, as well as the destruction of Yemeni infrastructure.

The meeting stressed the need to stop the war mill quickly in Yemen, considering that a political solution is the final option of the crisis, stressing the speedy dispatch of humanitarian aid and the implementation of the Stockholm Agreement fully and the implementation of the commitments of both sides, in preparation for a political solution to the crisis there.
