Germany: Lammert demands sharper persecution of hate speech and hate comments

Berlin (AFP) The former Bundestag President Norbert Lammert (CDU) has called on the judicial authorities to take a harsher line against hate speech and hate comments on the Internet. The judiciary is "a hesitancy to observe that the seriousness of the issue is not fair," said Lammert the newspapers of the editorial network Germany (RND) from Monday. Moreover, freedom of expression is "no general justification for spreading manifestly false claims".
