Interest in the free public journeys has been great in previous years, and has also shown results. According to X-traffic, about 70 percent of motorists who participated in the campaign in 2018 state that they now travel by public transport more often than before.
- We want more people to discover how well it can work for those who have the opportunity to choose an environmentally friendly way to travel in everyday life, says Fredrik Åberg-Jönsson (V), chairman of the Sustainability Committee.
The free trips apply to trains and buses during the month of October. To get a free ride, you must apply as a motorist to participate in the campaign.
