"He partially acknowledged the facts evoking a common desire to commit suicide," he also said in a statement.

The autopsy of the girl revealed "many wounds and fractures in the head as well as signs of strangulation". Her body had been discovered by a resident party cutting wood, below a road.
This is the second feminicide in New Caledonia since the beginning of the year, after the murder last March of Maureen, 29, who succumbed to the blows of his companion in Houailou, a village on the east coast.
