Britt-Louise Berndtsson - chair of the student union Adult School in Kronoberg County - was full of expectations today when the responsibility for the handcrafted paper mill in Lessebo was taken over by Adult School.
- I am very happy and relieved and it is exciting. We have received several happy calls since we were finally able to release the secret that we were working on this. And then it feels like we are already contributing to a future of faith.
Paper has been manufactured in the old paper mill in Lessebo for 300 years. The business here has been down since last summer, but now the premises will soon be filled with activities as the Adult School moves into the premises.
Göran Johansson is Chairman of the Board of Lessebo Paper and very pleased that the business has been saved for the future
- It is extremely important to preserve such a craft that is more than 300 years old, and to be able to pass it on. It is the feeling of paper that we have to convey, it is a completely different value in this paper. It is the same as with glass that you can refine. After all, it is a quality difference and many people discover that quality difference in this paper and want to preserve it, says Göran Johansson.
