The police received a call on Monday afternoon that several people entered a slaughterhouse, it was BT first to report on.

"They call from the slaughterhouse that about ten people have entered the area," says Peter Adlersson, police spokesman in the West region.

- The people are filming inside the area and say that they should do an on-site inspection.

The police gathered the activists

The police were on site with three cars at the slaughterhouse and got hold of the activists.

- We have gathered and talked to them. It's quiet in the place, they're not aggressive, says Peter Adlersson.

The activists have posted several videos from the slaughterhouse on their Facebook page and also broadcast live from the area. They describe their organization as an "animal rights group that conducts inspection and direct action against slaughterhouses for animal liberation".

The police are working on the basis that the activists may have committed illegal intrusions, but that can be changed.

- Right now it's an illegal intrusion that it looks like, but we have to wait for the report from the site.
