Berlin (dpa) - Heavy thunderstorms have crossed over parts of central and southern Germany and have caused problems in rail and air traffic. In Walldorf in Baden-Wuerttemberg, a lightning bolt hit a Deutsche Bahn interlocking, according to DB via Twitter. There is currently no train service between the main stations of Mannheim and Frankfurt, it said. There were delays of 90 minutes, with some ICEs it took even longer. Especially in Hesse, the train traffic was disrupted due to weather conditions, said a railway spokesman.
