From Monday 19 August the period cards in Gothenburg will be more expensive. This is due, according to Västtrafik, a political decision to stop subsidizing the tickets. The City of Gothenburg has since 2007 paid part of the cost of all period cards within the city.

With the increases, it will be the same price on the period card in Gothenburg as in the rest of Västra Götaland.

The new prices

The period card for an adult in Gothenburg for 30 days will be increased by SEK 135 and now costs SEK 775. For a youth, the new price will be SEK 580. The 90-day period card will cost SEK 2,095 for an adult and SEK 1,570 for a youth.

An annual card in Gothenburg costs SEK 7,750 for an adult. Leisure cards within the city will cost SEK 555 per semester. The prices of single tickets do not change.
