In the night from Saturday to Sunday, a motorist drove past a speed control at 234 kilometers per hour on the A4 at Schipluiden, police Westland reports on Facebook on Sunday. At Schipluiden you can usually drive 100 kilometers per hour.

The motorist was caught by a motorcyclist from the police who, at the end of his night shift, decided to carry out a speed check on the A4. The man will soon have to answer to the judge.

"Such speeds belong on the circuit and not on the highway," write the agents. "This driver may be lucky that there has been no serious or fatal collision."

The A4 at Schipluiden is more often the scene of speed devils: on Sunday 4 August a motorcyclist was allowed to dismount after a ride of 224 kilometers per hour. He also used drugs.
