The Jordanian Foreign Ministry said that it summoned the Israeli ambassador in Amman, Amir Weissboard, to confirm the Kingdom's condemnation and rejection of the violations of the occupation in Al-Aqsa Mosque.

The Jordanian Foreign Ministry also called for an immediate end to the absurd and provocative practices in Al-Haram Al-Sharif, which exacerbate the conflict and constitute a clear violation of international law.

Spokesman Sufian al-Qudah said in a statement that the Israeli ambassador had been informed of a firm message to be conveyed immediately to his government.

The judges confirmed that the ambassador was informed during the meeting of the Kingdom's strong condemnation of the statements of the Minister of Security "occupation" internal regarding the status of the Al-Aqsa Mosque and allow the Jews to pray there.

It was also confirmed that the Al-Aqsa Mosque (144 dunums) is a place of worship and prayer for Muslims only.

The ministry confirmed its condemnation and its refusal to close the gates of the mosque and prevent the entry of worshipers to it, or put any restrictions on entry under any pretext or argument and in various circumstances and conditions.

It stressed the need for Israel to respect its obligations as an occupying power, in accordance with international law and international humanitarian law.

Under the international law, Jordan is the last local authority to supervise the holy sites before its occupation by Israel.

Jordan also retained its right to supervise religious affairs in Jerusalem under the Wadi Araba Agreement (Jordan-Israel Peace Agreement signed in 1994).
