“We are satisfied with the signing in Sudan of an agreement on the establishment of a transitional government led by civilians, which paves the way for a new political future for Sudan,” the press service of the agency quoted Maas as saying.

The Foreign Minister stressed that power should be completely transferred to the transitional government, which should ensure the holding of general and democratic elections after the end of the transitional period.

Earlier, the Sudan Transitional Military Council and the opposition coalition Forces of Freedom and Change signed an agreement on a transitional period in the country.

It was noted that, according to the signed document, in Sudan "a joint military and civil council will be created, which will chair just over three years."
